Crafty Dinosaurs!

Crafty Dinosaurs!

To make the crafts in the photos below, you will need: cardboard, paint, an empty plastic milk carton, glue, tape, paper, scissors, empty cereal boxes, toilet roll tubes, egg boxes etc.
If you prefer your children to make less mess they can make an origami dinosaur by following the instructions on the Natural History Museum website: https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/origami-tyrannosaurus-rex-dinosaur.html.
Children use lots of skills when taking part in craft activities such as the ones below. For example:
– Junk modelling requires children to use their problem solving skills. They’ll need to consider things like which box would make a good body? Is it the right size? How will I make the tail? How will I join them together?
– Origami requires children to carefully follow instructions or the finished piece won’t turn out right. They also need to fold accurately.
– Craft activities require children to use scissors for cutting materials, sellotape etc. They will probably need to cut things other than paper so it will help to develop their cutting skills. Gluing and sticking require precision.
– Craft ideas encourage creativity and they are fun!!!!!
It would be lovely to see pictures if you try any of these please place on our Padlet or email to me.
Happy creating!
